DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is a skilled manual therapy intervention where a solid but thin filament needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a myofascial trigger point to normalize the muscle and diminish pain.

What is a trigger point?  It is a hyperirritable area that can be found as a taut band in muscle that may be painful with compression, stretch, or activity.

Benefits from dry needling may be immediate, but for longer lasting effects multiple treatments may be necessary

Some soreness may be expected <48hrs, stretching, ice, or heat are recommended.
